Fall is in the air…

It might not feel like it, but fall is approaching. With it comes the itch to spruce up those areas in your house that may have been neglected during the summer.

No need to spend tons of money to switch out the seasons.

Does your home have storm windows? They are common in houses from the 1970s and 1980s.

Quick fix: take them off! You won’t believe the difference. Don’t worry about cold air coming through. If your windows are sealed properly, you won’t even notice.

Inside, take a look at your lighting. Lamps are one of the most important elements you can add to your home. Turn off those overhead lights and lift your room to new levels.

Some of the houses we rent for vacation have only two lamps in the main room. I’ve been known to purchase new ones to use during my stay, or even bring some from home

New lamps can go a long way to refresh your home for the coming season. If you don’t want new lamps, just get new shades. You’ll be amazed to see the difference it can make!
